Gardner Denver KG-KXG Double-cylinder pump

Power End: the cornerstone of indestructible strength

Core stability: one-piece cast frame

The KG-KXG power end is based on a single high-strength alloy or ductile iron precision-cast frame.

Precision power transmission: herringbone gear train

One of the defining features of Gardner Denver's power train design is the continuous herringbone gear. Different from the traditional helical gears, herringbone gears have unique symmetrical v-shaped tooth structure, which makes the axial thrust generated in the process of meshing transmission can offset each other.

Reciprocating motion assembly: designed for extreme loads

The reciprocating motion assembly of the KG-KXG is designed to withstand continuous heavy impact and tensile loads. The connecting rod is cast in one piece with high strength ductile iron and the structure is solid. It also offers forged connecting rods in 35CrMo alloy steel, which is known for its superior strength and toughness.

The crosshead is also made of monolithic alloy cast iron and is specially reinforced around the crosshead pin to withstand the great forces of reciprocating motion without distortion. In addition, the crank bushings at the large end of the connecting rod and the crosshead pin bushings at the small end are made of replaceable high-lead bronze or bronze bushings, which is a crucial maintainability design, and the design of the connecting rod bushings at the large end of the connecting rod and the crosshead pin bushings at the small end of the connecting rod are both made of replaceable high-lead bronze or bronze bushings, so that after a long period of use can be refurbished at a lower cost, to restore the initial performance of the power end.

Hydraulic end: to cope with the abrasive environment and Seiko build

Integrity of the hydraulic cylinder

Hydraulic cylinder is the core component to bear the pumping pressure, and its material selection and manufacturing process are very important. Depending on the application requirements, KG-KXG offers a variety of cylinder material options, including cast iron for general service conditions, ductile iron for higher pressure and durability requirements, cast steel for harsh applications, and cast steel for high pressure applications, and forged alloy steels for extreme pressure conditions.

For high-pressure modules, we use high-quality forged alloy steels such as 35CrMo or 40CrMnMo. All hydraulic end components are manufactured in strict compliance with industry standards such as API 7K, which is our solemn commitment to product quality and safety.

In-depth analysis of high-performance wear parts

Cylinder liner:

High chromium cylinder liner: the lining is made of high chromium cast iron alloy with chromium content over 27% , and its hardness is as high as HRC 60-65, which provides excellent wear-resistant protection for processing strong abrasive and corrosive media such as drilling mud with high sand content. The casing is made of high-strength forged steel to ensure the solidity of the overall structure.

Hardened steel cylinder liners: provide excellent all-around durability as standard for many mud, cementing, and cementing operations.

Zirconia/ceramic liners: the top choice for extreme conditions. By combining a forged steel housing with a ceramic lining, the cylinder liners exhibit unparalleled performance in highly corrosive and abrasive environments, with service life exceeding 4000 hours, greatly extending maintenance intervals.

Bronze liner: designed for water-based and some chemical delivery applications, bronze provides excellent corrosion resistance.

Piston & piston rod:

The piston is usually made of a steel body or hub and bonded to a durable nitrile rubber or high performance polyurethane material. This design ensures an effective seal under great pressure and resists erosion by abrasive fluids.

The piston rod is made of high-strength alloy steel, the surface is hardened or chrome plated to form an extremely smooth and wear-resistant surface, which provides an ideal mating surface for the packing seal, effectively preventing leakage and prolonging the packing life.

Valves and seats:

We offer a variety of body types including wing guide (for gravel and mud with large particles and high solids content) and STEM Guide to optimize fluid dynamics in different media.

Material choices are equally diverse: hardened alloy steel for muds and cementing, stainless steel for corrosive media, and bronze for water-based applications. High-performance polyurethane is available for valve plugs to enhance sealing and wear life.

Quantifiable performance, unquestioned power

Practical application of versatility

The KG-KXG pump has a rated power of up to 700 hp, making it one of the best two-cylinder pumps of its kind. Such power, combined with its diverse hydraulic end configurations, gives it an unparalleled range of applications, capable of performing demanding tasks ranging from oil and gas drilling to industrial production, including:

High-pressure mud drilling: provides stable high displacement and high pressure, effectively carries cuttings, cools the bit, and maintains wellbore stability.

Cementing and fracturing support: reliable pumping of high-density cement slurry and fracturing fluid to ensure successful cementing and stimulation of oil and gas wells.

Oil and gas gathering and transportation and pipeline pressurization: as a pipeline pump or production pump, it can run stably for a long time and transport crude oil, refined oil and other hydrocarbon products.

Mine and industrial slurry transportation: can efficiently handle high abrasive slurry, coal slurry, tailings and other industrial slurry.
