Gardner Denver FG-FXG Double-cylinder pump
Power End: the indestructible source of power
All-in-one cast iron frame: the power end of FG-FXG uses a strong all-in-one alloy cast iron frame. Compared with the welded structure, cast iron has excellent vibration damping characteristics, which can effectively absorb the impact and vibration generated during operation, so as to protect the internal gear train and bearings and ensure the stability of long-term operation.
Herringbone gear transmission: the core of power transmission is continuous tooth herringbone gear, whose main gear and eccentric wheel are cast into a rigid single part. This design ensures smooth meshing of multiple teeth at any time, achieving quieter, less vibrating power transmission, while greatly enhancing load distribution and service life.
Core Drive element: the connecting rod is made of high-strength ductile iron, while the crosshead is made of strong alloy iron, with special reinforcement around the crosshead pin to cope with the huge reciprocating impact.
Bearing configuration: the main bearing adopts heavy load adjustable tapered roller bearing, which can bear high radial and axial load at the same time. Pinion shafts are mounted on roller bearings, and this design allows the pinion to achieve perfect dynamic alignment during operation, thereby significantly reducing gear eccentric wear. The connecting rod and crosshead pin bearings are made of bronze bushings with excellent self-lubricating and wear resistance.
Splash lubrication system: a large oil tank with a capacity of up to 4.5 gallons (17 liters) provides consistent, reliable splash lubrication for all internal moving parts, ensures adequate cooling and wear protection during prolonged continuous Operation8.
Hydraulic end: for versatility and maintainability
The hydraulic end is the part in direct contact with harsh fluids and must be designed for durability, efficiency, and ease of field maintenance.
Modular structure: the hydraulic end adopts the valve box structure, each valve is equipped with an independent, can be a separate rocket fixed valve cover. This critical design allows service personnel to quickly access and replace individual valves without removing the entire hydraulic end, greatly reducing downtime for maintenance.
Material Options: the standard FG-FXG hydraulic end is made of one-piece cast iron and is known for its durability and good wear resistance to common drilling muds. For higher pressures or specific corrosive environments, we also offer a variety of material options such as cast steel (e. g. FG-FXG-R) or ductile iron to meet customers' diverse application requirements.
Replaceable liners: the design of removable, interchangeable liners is one of the core strengths of FG-FXG pumps. This feature allows the same pump to be easily configured for a wide range of operating conditions, from low pressure and high flow to high pressure and low flow, by simply changing the size of the cylinder liner, this makes it a valuable and adaptable asset.

Material and process of original OEM accessories
Liners:
Types of materials: we offer a variety of materials for different applications. Hardened steel cylinder liners are standard in mud and oil conditions for excellent wear resistance. For less abrasive water conditions, bronze cylinder liners are recommended to prevent corrosion. For extreme abrasion environment, optional
High chromium bimetallic cylinder liner, the shell is made of forged steel (Aisi 1045) , the inner liner is made of high chromium (chromium content is not less than 27%) cast iron centrifugal casting, the hardness can reach HRC 60-69, the service life is much longer than ordinary cylinder liner.
Manufacturing Process: the original standard cylinder liner has extremely strict dimensional tolerance, to ensure the perfect fit with the hydraulic end cylinder hole, to prevent the high pressure"Channeling" or lead to the back of the cylinder liner"Erosion" phenomenon.
Pistons and Piston Rods:
Pistons: standard pistons have a forged steel (AISI 5140) piston core for mud service, with an oil-resistant NBR or more wear-resistant polyurethane (PU) piston skin. For normal service, a cast iron piston with a woven polymer seal ring is recommended.
Piston rod: hardened steel piston rods are standard in mud and oil service and are optionally hard chrome plated to enhance corrosion resistance and extend packing seal life. High-strength alloy steel (42CrMo) is forged, quenched and tempered, and precision ground to ensure superior tensile strength and surface finish.
Valve Assembly:
Design and material: The Pump adopts wing-shaped guide valve design to ensure the stable seating of the valve and prevent"Flutter". Valve bodies and seats are made of high quality forged alloy steel (20CrMnTi, AISI 4119 or AISI 8620) to withstand heavy impact loads.
Manufacturing Process: key body and seat surfaces are heavily carburized and hardened to a depth of 2.0-2.5 mm with a surface hardness of no less than HRC 60, ensuring extra-long durability in abrasive fluids. Valve inserts are made of high-quality polyurethane or nitrile rubber depending on the medium.
Section 5: excellent versatility across industries
Gardner Denver FG-FXG's robust design and flexible configuration enable it to play a key role in core applications across multiple industries.
Oil and gas: in shallow well drilling, FG-FXG is ideal for mud circulation and cementing services. Its reliable performance and easy maintenance make it ideal for small rigs and workover operations.
Exploration and mining: the pump is widely used in core drilling, seismic exploration and mine drainage services. Its portability and ability to handle abrasive mud are highly sought after.
Wells and geotechnical engineering: Reliability and ease of maintenance are primary considerations in the field of well drilling, and this is where FG-FXG excels.
General industrial services: with its continuous Operation Design, FG-FXG also excels in oil pipelines, barge handling, and other general industrial fluids requiring medium to high pressures.
