Solid core: ductile iron frame construction

The power end frame, eccentric shaft, connecting rod and crosshead of PZ-8 are all made of high quality ductile iron. This choice is crucial. The tensile strength and ductility of ductile iron are close to that of steel, while retaining the excellent vibration absorption performance of cast iron and the castability of complex structure.

Precision transmission system: herringbone gear and crankshaft

The core of power transmission is herringbone (double helical) main gear design. This advanced gear structure enables smooth, continuous power transmission, and natural offset axial thrust, compared to ordinary helical gear or spur gear, its carrying capacity is stronger, more quiet operation. The main gear is made of heat-treated high quality alloy steel with precision machining, and is firmly bolted to the eccentric shaft to ensure durability under high torque.

The crankshaft/eccentric shaft assembly, made of cast or forged alloy steel, is the heart of the pump, efficiently converting rotary motion into reciprocating motion and stably loaded by a heavy-duty bearing system. It is the excellent rigidity of the power end frame that enables these precision gears and bearings to be perfectly aligned under severe loads, realizing their full potential.

Built for durability: Bearings and lubrication systems

Eccentric shaft: supported by double row spherical roller bearings. This kind of bearing can bear huge radial load, and can adapt to small misalignment, ensure the stable operation of the core transmission components.

Pinion shaft (input shaft) : supported by heavy duty cylindrical roller bearings. They provide superior radial load capacity for the power input end.

Connecting rod: using double roller bearing design, its big end (connecting eccentric shaft) and small end (connecting cross pin) are used in roller bearings, to ensure that under the great tension and compression alternating stress transmission of power, minimum friction and maximum reliability.

To protect this sophisticated mechanical ecosystem, the PZ-8 uses a dual lubrication system that combines forced lubrication with splash lubrication, with a built-in oil pump. This ensures that all key moving parts are always covered with clean, cool oil. Standard equipment includes an oil filter with replaceable cartridges and an oil pressure gauge to monitor the health of the lubrication system in real time. For extreme weather or special working conditions, but also optional oil heat exchanger and external electric lubrication pump upgrade components.

Design concept of wearing parts: Crosshead and guide plate

The crosshead body is made of sturdy ductile iron, but its sliding surfaces run on replaceable bronze or Meehanite (ASTM A48-83) guides.

Source of outstanding performance: Hydraulic End Technology and materials science

Modular forged steel hydraulic end

The standard hydraulic end of the PZ-8 consists of three interchangeable, heat-treated alloy steel cylinders (modules) . These modules are forged rather than cast, ensuring excellent internal grain structure, higher strength and superior crack growth resistance to withstand continuous cyclic impact under high pressure. It is usually made of high quality forged alloy steel, such as 35CRMO or 40CrMnMo, and the entire manufacturing process is strictly followed

API 7K specification.

The maximum working pressure rating of the standard hydraulic end is 5,000 PSI 5. Although some of the data refer to higher pressure values, this is usually achieved by selecting a dedicated hydraulic end with a higher pressure rating, reflecting the platform's upgrade potential.

API-7 valves: passage for high pressure fluids

The standard valve assembly is a triple-ribbed API-7 valve and seat with a polyurethane valve rubber, an industry standard proven for reliability. At the same time, the design is compatible

Options such as fully open valves and rubber valves allow the user to customize the fluid according to its characteristics and solids content.

The threaded bonnet is the signature design of the PZ series and provides a strong and reliable seal for quick disassembly and assembly.

Scientific selection of wear parts

Cylinder liner: the first line of defense against wear

Option 1: high chromium (bimetallic) liners: these liners consist of a tough forged steel (Aisi 1045) casing with a centrifugally cast high chromium cast iron inner liner. It provides excellent cost-effective performance for standard drilling operations with good wear resistance (HRC 60-65) and a normal service life of approximately 800 hours.

Option 2: Zirconia Ceramic Cylinder Liner: uses a forged steel casing combined with an integral zirconia ceramic liner. Its advantages are extreme hardness (HRC > 90) , excellent wear and corrosion resistance, higher temperature resistance and significantly extended service life (up to 4,000 hours or more) .

Piston and Rod: the engine that drives the pressure

The PZ-8 piston is made of a durable forged alloy core and can be fitted with different materials such as polyurethane or high abrasion-resistant nitrile rubber. The piston rod is also available

Forged alloy steel, its surface is usually treated by coating (such as chromium plating) , to enhance the surface hardness and corrosion resistance, ensure the smooth fit with the seal, prolong service life.

Performance under load: Flow and pressure range

The following performance data sheets are the key basis for drilling engineers to make hydraulic designs. All ratings are based on industry standards of 90% mechanical efficiency and 100% volumetric efficiency.

Field validation: Terrestrial and marine applications

The 750HP power rating of the PZ-8 makes it an ideal main pump for medium and large rigs, which can be used for both onshore shale gas production and large offshore drilling platforms. It can provide sufficient power for deep wells, but will not lead to excess power in the standard operation of inefficient. The PZ-8 is flexible enough to accommodate a variety of power sources, whether diesel (Cat 379/398, Detroit 60 series) or DC/AC (e.g. , GE-752) , it can be seamlessly integrated into the power system of any rig.

Customized for your rig: customization and skidding solutions

We offer a full range of optional features to deliver the PZ-8 to you as a fully integrated, out-of-the-box solution.

Skid mounted and integrated: steel base with pump bottom only, or large integral skid mount with non-slip deck. We offer fully customized skidding services.

Suction and perfusion: optional with centrifugal perfusion pump, custom suction manifold and suction buffer. To prevent cavitation and maximize pump efficiency, we recommend maintaining a stable suction pressure of 10-40 PSI.

Discharge system: optional discharge buffer to smooth pressure pulsation and protect downstream equipment.

Auxiliary system: optional oil heat exchanger and external electric lubrication pump to cope with extreme operating conditions.
