The 12-P-160's Power Pack is at the heart of its legendary reliability. Every design decision is aimed at maximizing strength, extending life, and reducing vibration.

Frame and drive train: The Heart of the power end is a sturdy welded steel frame with complete stress relief. Inside the frame, crankshafts forged in one piece from high-grade alloy steel, such as 42CRMO or 4340, transmit power through precision-machined Herringbone Gears. Unlike conventional gears, herringbone gears can self-cancel axial thrust, significantly reducing bearing load and resulting in smoother, quieter operation.

Lubrication and cooling: dual system of forced lubrication and splash lubrication, driven by an internal gear oil pump, ensure that all critical moving parts (including heavy duty roller bearings, crossheads and gears) are continuously and cleanly protected by oil film under all operating conditions.

Hydraulic end: precision and durability under high pressure

L-modular advantage: this advanced two-piece design separates the suction and discharge modules, providing overwhelming maintenance advantages over traditional monolithic modules. When wear occurs, you only need to replace the affected single module, rather than the entire expensive hydraulic end assembly, resulting in significant savings in cost and valuable drilling time.

Material and process for high pressure: the cylinder module is forged from 35CrMo or 40CrMnMo high quality alloy steel, eliminating the possible internal defects of the casting. After multi-channel heat treatment and internal hardening process, its hardness reaches HB285-330, and through strict non-destructive testing, to ensure that the working pressure at 5000 PSI safe and reliable.

Cylinder liner technology:

High chromium bimetallic cylinder liners: as an industry standard, the casing is made of high strength forged steel with a centrifugally cast high chromium (CR ≥27%) alloy lining, HRC 60-69 hardness, and service life exceeding 800 hours under normal operating conditions.

Zirconia ceramic liner (advanced option) : Ideal for extreme abrasive and corrosive environments. Its lining hardness exceeds HRC 90, service life can reach more than 4000 hours, by significantly reducing downtime, for you to bring higher return on investment.

Piston and piston rod: piston core by 42CRMO or 45 # steel forging, with high pressure, wear-resistant Polyurethane (Polyurethane) piston rubber. The piston rod is forged of 42CrMo alloy steel and treated by hard chrome plating, which has extremely high strength and smoothness, and can effectively prolong the service life of the packing seal.

API # 7 valve assembly: the body and seat are forged from 20CrMnTi alloy steel and are heavily carburized and hardened to a surface hardness of more than HRC60, strong enough to resist erosion wear from high-pressure drilling fluids. The Full Open design maximizes hydraulic efficiency.
