One-piece cast iron frame: the backbone of stability

The core of the FD-FXX series power end is its one-piece alloy cast iron frame, which is the hallmark design feature of the entire FX series pump.

Forged core for extreme conditions: crankshaft and connecting rod

The crankshaft is one of the components that bear the maximum torque and cyclic stress at the power end. For this reason, the crankshaft of FD-FXX series pumps is made of one-piece forged alloy steel.

The connecting rod is made of high-strength ductile iron, a material with excellent ductility and strength that is perfectly suited to withstand the tensile and compressive loads generated by the reciprocating motion of the piston. High-lead bronze bushings at both ends of the connecting rod ensure low friction and high wear resistance under severe lubrication conditions.

Reliable Splash lubrication system

The FD-FXX series pumps use a very simple and efficient splash lubrication system at the power end. The large oil tank (12 gallons/46 liters) in the crankcase provides a continuous oil bath for all internal moving parts

Rugged hydraulic cylinder design

The FD-FXX (J & K) model features a rugged one-piece cast iron hydraulic cylinder block 3. The all-in-one structure provides maximum structural strength and pressure resistance, which is essential to withstand the high-pressure circulation of the drilling operation. In view of FXXK's petroleum working condition and FXXL's general working condition, the cast iron material has been selected because of its excellent compressive strength and corrosion resistance in oil and a variety of industrial fluids, which provides a solid guarantee for the reliable operation of the pump.

High chromium bimetallic liners: the first line of defense

For more abrasive environments, we offer high chromium bimetallic liners with superior performance. The liner is a two-layer structure: the casing is made of high-strength forged steel (Aisi 1045) , ensuring extremely high tensile strength and compressive strength; the lining is formed by centrifugal casting of high-chromium cast iron with a chromium content of more than 27% , hRC 60-69. Finally, the inner bushing is pressed into the forged steel housing in an interference fit to form a perfect metallurgical bond for an ultra-long service life of over 800 hours 25.

Forged 42CrMo piston rod: Force in motion

The piston rod is the key component connecting the power end and the hydraulic end. It bears huge tensile and compressive alternating stress in each stroke. To address this challenge, the piston rod of the FD-FXX series pumps is made of a high-strength alloy steel, 42CrMo (equivalent to Aisi 4140/4142) , by forging. After forging is completed, the piston rod is subjected to strict quenching and tempering (quenching and high temperature tempering) .

Carburizing alloy steel valves and seats: the heart of the hydraulic end

FD-FXX series valves and seats are forged in one piece from high quality alloy steel (AISI 8620 or AISI 4119) followed by deep carburizing. After subsequent quenching treatment, this carbon-rich surface layer will be transformed into an extremely hard martensite structure (hardness HRC ≥60) , and the depth of the carburized layer can reach 2.0-2.5 mm, the core of the part remains low in hardness and high in toughness. This dual-character structure of hard outside and tough inside is the perfect solution for valves and seats to cope with harsh operating conditions.

Precision manufacturing to original tolerances

Every genuine spare part of DL is produced strictly according to the original design drawings and tolerance standards. This means perfect fit and functional interchangeability. In the high-pressure fluid system, even a small size deviation may lead to seal failure, pressure loss and abnormal wear of components.
