Power End: for uninterrupted durability and born

Rack integrity: the cornerstone of strength

FD-FXX series pump frame is made of high strength alloy cast iron or ductile iron one-piece casting, this design gives the frame excellent rigidity.

Precision Drive: forged crankshafts and herringbone gears

Forged crankshaft: as the core of power transmission, the crankshaft is forged from high quality alloy steel (35CRMO or 40CrMnMo) in one piece and subjected to a rigorous heat treatment process. The forging process makes the internal grain flow direction of the steel consistent with the stress direction, so as to obtain far more fatigue strength and toughness than the casting, and ensure that the steel is still stable and reliable under long-term high load.

Herringbone Gear: we use an advanced continuous-tooth herringbone gear design. When the double helical gear structure is engaged, the axial thrust generated by the helix angles on the left and right sides can offset each other. This compact design eliminates the need for heavy-duty thrust bearings, greatly reducing internal stress throughout the power end. The result is a smoother transmission of power, lower noise, and significantly longer life for gears and bearings.

Core Strength: connecting rods, crossheads and bearings

Connecting rod: high strength, high toughness of ductile iron whole manufacturing, can perfectly deal with the reciprocating movement of the tensile and compressive stress. High-lead bronze bushings at the crank end and bronze bushings at the crosshead ensure excellent wear resistance and low friction operation.

Crosshead: Made of solid alloy cast iron with special reinforcement around the crosshead pin to withstand extremely high rod loads without distortion.

Bearing: the key parts of the power end, such as pinion shaft and eccentric main bearing, are heavy-duty roller bearings, with its excellent bearing capacity and reliability, for the long-term stable operation of the pump to provide a solid guarantee.

Protection of durable performance: Splash lubrication system

FD-FXX features a compact and efficient splash lubrication system that provides continuous lubrication of all internal moving parts using large capacity oil grooves in the crankcase.

Hydraulic end: precision and versatility under extreme pressure

Hydraulic cylinder design: the heart of pumping action

FD-FXX series adopts valve box type cylinder design, according to different models and application requirements, can provide one-piece alloy cast iron, ductile iron or cast steel and other materials to choose. The key advantage of this design is that each valve has a separate bonnet, greatly simplifying field maintenance and allowing operators to inspect or replace any valve quickly and independently, without removing the entire hydraulic end, significantly reducing maintenance downtime.

High chromium bimetallic cylinder liner: the first line of defense against wear

Case: forged in one piece from high strength carbon steel (E. G. Aisi 1045) . The forging process gives the housing excellent structural integrity and tensile strength of more than 900,000 psi, allowing it to easily withstand the tremendous circumferential stresses generated by high-pressure operations.

Inner sleeve: Made of high chromium cast iron alloy (chromium content over 27%) by centrifugal casting process. Centrifugal casting ensures the density and uniformity of the metal structure of the inner sleeve, and eliminates defects such as sand holes and porosity. Subsequently, through precise heat treatment process, the hardness of the inner sleeve reaches the ultra-high level of Rockwell hardness HRC 60-69, resulting in unparalleled wear resistance, corrosion resistance and erosion resistance 23.

This combination of forged steel toughness and high chromium cast iron hardness makes our bimetallic liners last more than 800 hours in harsh conditions, far longer than traditional single-material liners.

Piston rod: forged to resist fatigue

Material and process: we use 42CrMo and other high grade alloy steel as the raw material of piston rod. Compared with the direct bar machining, the integral forging process makes the grain flow lines in the metal distribute along the shape of the piston rod, which greatly enhances its fatigue strength and toughness.

Heat treatment: after forging, the piston rod undergoes a rigorous multi-stage heat treatment (normalizing, quenching, tempering) . This process optimizes the microstructure of the steel, enabling it to maintain excellent impact toughness (≥63 j) while having extremely high tensile strength (930-1080 MPa) , thus enabling it to remain stable under high-frequency stress cycles, preventing brittle fracture.

Surface strengthening: according to customer requirements, we can also provide surface chrome treatment, further enhance the wear resistance and corrosion resistance of the piston rod, prolong its service life in harsh environments.

Valves and seats: Guardians of pressure and flow

Material Selection: we choose AISI 8620 and other high-quality forged alloy steel as the basic material of valve and seat.

Carburizing heat treatment: this is a key process for manufacturing high performance valves and seats. At high temperatures (920-930 °C) , we diffused carbon atoms to the surface layers of the components, followed by quenching and low-temperature tempering44. This process creates a unique dual-property structure:

Hard surface: a carburized hardened layer with a depth of 2.0-2.5 mm and a hardness up to HRC ≥60 is formed, sufficient to resist high-speed scouring and abrasion by solid particles in the drilling fluid.

Flexible Core: the core of the component maintains a low carbon content and high toughness, which can effectively absorb the huge impact force generated when the valve is closed each time and prevent brittle fracture of the component.

Precision Machining: after the heat treatment, we perform precision grinding on the conical sealing surface of the valve and the seat to eliminate the small deformation that may be caused by the heat treatment, ensure the perfect size match between the two, and achieve reliable sealing, thus maximizing service life and improving pump volumetric efficiency.

OEM advantage: extraordinary investment in performance and safety

The choice of each component is critical in a demanding work environment. The choice of Gardner OEM accessories is not only a guarantee of equipment performance, but also a wise investment in operational safety and long-term economic benefits.

Matchless fit and performance: Gardner Denver's original fittings are built to the original design tolerances to ensure a perfect fit with the pump. This eliminates the use of"Imitation" may bring poor sealing, abnormal wear and tear and even damage the risk of adjacent parts.

Hidden costs of"Saving": low prices for non-original parts often come at the expense of material grade and manufacturing process. A pump malfunction caused by a faulty component can halt drilling for hours or even days, with economic losses far exceeding the cost of the original component. More importantly, failure of high-pressure equipment can lead to serious safety accidents.

Material and process integrity: We openly and transparently demonstrate the use of high-grade alloy steels such as 42CrMo and AISI 8620 in core components, as well as complex processes such as forging, centrifugal casting, and carburizing. These are the things that copymakers often omit or simplify. The choice of original parts, means that you choose to have the right internal metallographic structure and mechanical properties, can truly withstand the field test parts.

API 7K standards: Our Mud Pump and its core components are in accordance with API 7K and other industry standards design and manufacture, which is the authoritative guarantee of product quality and safety.
