Power End: Indestructible Working Heart
One-piece casting frame
FXN-DMA's power end is a rugged, one-piece alloy cast iron frame
Forged crankshaft with herringbone gear
Forged crankshaft: as the core of power transmission, the crankshaft is forged from high quality alloy steel (35CrMo, 40CRMNMO or modified 4340 steel) and subjected to strict heat treatment process.
Herringbone Gear: we use an advanced continuous herringbone gear design. When the double helical gear structure is engaged, the axial thrust generated by the helix angles on the left and right sides can offset each other.
Born for extreme loads: connecting rods, crossheads and bearings
Connecting rod: high strength, high toughness of ductile iron whole manufacturing, can perfectly deal with the reciprocating movement of the tensile and compressive stress. Both the crank end and the crosshead end are equipped with high-lead bronze bushings, which ensure the reliability of the joint with their excellent wear resistance and low friction coefficient.
Crosshead: the sturdy alloy cast iron crosshead is reinforced around the oversized crosshead pin to effectively distribute the load and ensure the stability and accuracy of the reciprocating motion.
Bearing: the key parts of the power end, such as pinion shaft and eccentric main bearing, are heavy-duty roller bearings, with its excellent bearing capacity and reliability, for the long-term stable operation of the pump to provide a solid guarantee.
Protection of durable performance: Splash lubrication system
FXN-DMA features a compact and efficient splash lubrication system that uses large capacity oil grooves in the crankcase to provide continuous lubrication to all internal moving parts. To ensure optimal performance and maintain your warranty, we strongly recommend that you always use Gardner's official Aeon Lubricants.
Hydraulic end: a model of high pressure fluid handling
Wear-resistant core: high chromium bimetallic cylinder liner
Cylinder liner is the key wearing part of the hydraulic end, and its performance directly determines the efficiency and maintenance cycle of the pump. Our bimetallic cylinder liner adopts composite structure design, which perfectly balances strength and wear resistance:
Enclosure: high strength forged carbon steel (E. G. Aisi 1045) provides superior toughness and compression resistance to withstand internal pressures up to thousands of PSI.
Lining: high chromium cast iron containing more than 27% chromium is fused into the inside of the shell by centrifugal casting process. This high chromium alloy layer after heat treatment, the hardness can reach Rockwell hardness HRC 60-69, has the ultimate wear resistance and corrosion resistance.
This design ensures an average service life of over 800 hours, 2 to 3 times that of a normal cylinder liner in severe conditions.
Driving Force: 42CrMo forged piston rod
The piston rod is the key link that transmits the tremendous thrust generated by the power end to the hydraulic end. We use the excellent 42CrMo alloy steel as its sole material. Each piston rod is forged in one piece and subjected to a rigorous quenching and tempering process (quenching and tempering) to obtain the best combination of mechanical properties. At the same time, we also provide surface chromium plating options to further enhance its wear resistance and corrosion resistance, extending the service life in harsh drilling fluid environment.
Performance Seal: High Performance Piston Assembly
The sealing performance of the piston is directly related to the volumetric efficiency of the pump. Our piston assembly consists of high-quality forged steel cored welds and specially formulated elastomeric rubber skins. We offer a wide range of rubber materials to meet different operational challenges:
Nitrile/NBR: performs well in oil-based muds with excellent oil resistance.
Polyurethane: designed for highly abrasive fluids and high temperature environments to provide ultra-long durability.
This targeted material selection ensures the best sealing effect and the longest service life under any operating conditions.
Forging carburizing valve assembly
The valve assembly (valve body and valve seat) is the core component to control the unidirectional flow of high pressure fluid, which is subjected to tremendous impact and wear. Gardner Denver Valve Assembly is manufactured using the following state-of-the-art processes:
Material and forming: high quality alloy steel (AISI 4119 or AISI 8620) is selected for integral forging to ensure unparalleled structural strength.
Deep carburizing: after forging, the body and seat are deeply carburized. The process forms an extremely hard (HRC ≥60) wear-resistant layer on the surface of the component, while the core part maintains high toughness, which enables it to both resist the erosion of abrasive mud and resist the erosion of abrasive mud, and can withstand the huge impact force generated when the valve is closed without breaking.
Precision Machining: after heat treatment, we perform precision machining on the sealing surface of the valve to eliminate any small deformation caused by heat treatment and ensure the perfect sealing fit between the valve body and the valve seat.
