The power end core of the GQ-GXN series pumps is a monolithic alloy or ductile iron frame.

Drive system-precision Engineering in motion

Crankshaft: as the core of power transmission, GQ-GXN crankshaft is made of high quality forged alloy steel (35CrMo or 40CrMnMo) . Some high-end models even use improved 4340 alloy steel, its high nickel content can effectively inhibit the initiation and propagation of cracks, and high chromium content provides excellent corrosion resistance.

Gear: Gardner uses the iconic continuous herringbone gear design in the GQ-GXN series. Different from the traditional helical gear, the axial thrust of herringbone gear generated by the two opposite helix angles will offset each other when meshing.

Bearings and lubrication-the lifeblood of continuous operation

The GQ-GXN series has a heavy-duty bearing configuration, with the eccentric wheel supported by double-row spherical roller bearings and the pinion shaft mounted on heavy-duty straight or tapered roller bearings. These bearing types are carefully selected to withstand the large radial loads and complex compound stresses that occur in the operation of reciprocating pumps.

High chromium bimetallic cylinder liner-the first line of defense

Construction and fabrication: the outer housing (or jacket) is fabricated from high strength forged carbon steel (e.g. , AISI 1045) by hot pressing, providing superior toughness and compressive strength to withstand up to 7, 500 psi or higher. The inner lining (or bushing) is made by centrifugal casting from a proprietary high chromium cast iron alloy (containing more than 100% chromium)
Centrifugal casting ensures that the metal structure of the inner sleeve is dense and uniform, without any sand holes or impurities.

Performance Advantage: after strict heat treatment, the surface hardness of high chromium inner sleeve can reach the amazing level of Rockwell hardness HRC 60-69. The service life under harsh conditions can be stable more than 800 hours, is to protect the pump efficient, long-term operation of the first line of solid defense.

Piston and rod assemblies-fluid-powered engines

Piston rod: GQ-GXN series of piston rods using high-quality high-strength alloy steel 42CrMo as raw material. The manufacturing process begins with forging. Subsequently, the rod is subjected to a number of complex heat treatments, including quenching and tempering. Finally, the wear resistance and corrosion resistance of the surface are further improved by surface treatment technologies such as chromium plating, zinc plating or phosphating to ensure that the surface remains smooth in long-term friction with the seal and reduce leakage.

Piston: considering the chemical properties of different drilling fluids, we offer a variety of piston options. For example, Urethane bonded pistons perform well in oil-based muds with excellent oil and wear resistance, while Nitrile Rubber pistons are more suitable for water-based mud environments. These materials are specially formulated to resist chemical attack and abrasive wear, ensuring a reliable seal and long life under all operating conditions.

Valves and seats-guardians of the pressure world

Materials and workmanship: Gardner Denver valves and seats are of high quality forged alloy steel, AISI 4119 or AISI 8620. The core of the manufacturing process is the deep carburizing heat treatment. This is a complex surface hardening process: at high temperatures, carbon atoms are diffused to the surface of the steel to form a high-carbon layer (the"Hardened layer") up to 2.0-2.5 mm deep. The subsequent quenching treatment enables the surface layer to form a martensite structure with extremely high hardness (HRC ≥60) , while the core material inside maintains the original low-carbon composition, thereby maintaining excellent toughness and plasticity.
