The power end: the cornerstone of strength and stability

 

 

The power end is the heart of the pump, responsible for converting mechanical energy into smooth reciprocating motion. Each of its components has been carefully designed to ensure structural integrity and operational accuracy under long, high-load conditions.

Crankcase (power rack)

 

The crankcase of the BXM6-15AB has a strong monolithic cast iron construction. The design of the crankcase with an extra large oil groove brings double advantages: first, it can hold more oil, providing better and more durable lubrication for all moving parts; second, it can be used to improve the quality of oil supply, more oil helps dissipate heat more efficiently and lower operating temperatures, significantly extending the oil change cycle and reducing maintenance frequency.

Crankshaft

 

As the core of power transmission, the crankshaft is made of"Automotive grade" ductile iron.

Connecting rod and crosshead

 

The connecting rod and crosshead are made of"High strength zinc alloy". Zinc alloys (Zamak-2 or Zamak-3) are capable of forming complex geometries with extremely high precision by die casting process, which is essential to ensure dimensional consistency and dynamic balance of connecting rods and crossheads.

Bearings

 

The crankshaft is supported by high-quality ball bearings, which are precisely selected to withstand high radial and axial loads, ensure smooth crankshaft rotation, and minimize friction losses, while maintaining a high degree of reliability, thus, the mechanical efficiency and durability of the whole power end are improved.

Hydraulic end-body

 

The hydraulic end body of the BXM6-15AB is made of precision cast aluminum bronze. Aluminum bronze exhibits exceptional tolerance in corrosive environments, especially when dealing with brines, partial acid-base solutions, and other industrial chemicals, far exceeding standard cast iron or steel.

Cylinder liner

 

The cylinder liner of the pump is made of alumina ceramic. Ceramic materials have several incomparable advantages: first, their extremely high hardness makes them have excellent wear resistance, which can effectively resist the erosion and abrasion of suspended particles in the fluid. Second, the chemical inertness of ceramics makes them virtually impervious to most industrial chemicals. Finally, the ceramic surface has a very low friction coefficient after precision machining, which not only reduces the wear of the piston seal, but also reduces the operating energy consumption, thus significantly prolonging the replacement cycle of the seal and the cylinder liner itself.

Valve assemblies

 

Valve assemblies, including seats and discs, are made of 316 stainless steel. 316 stainless steel is known for its excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, effectively preventing poor sealing or sticking of valves due to rust or corrosion. This ensures that the valve in each stroke can be accurately closed and opened to maintain high volumetric efficiency of the pump, is to ensure long-term stable operation of the key pump.

Piston assembly

 

The piston head is made of the same aluminum bronze as the hydraulic end body to ensure chemical compatibility and corrosion resistance. The seals are made of fabric reinforced nitrile rubber v-rings. Nitrile rubber has excellent oil resistance and water resistance, and the addition of the inner fabric layer greatly enhances the structural strength and extrusion resistance of the seal ring. Under the action of high pressure, this reinforced structure can effectively prevent the seal ring deformation or be squeezed into the gap, so as to ensure lasting and reliable sealing effect under high pressure.

Quick valve repair: one of the most iconic designs is the accessibility of its valves. Maintenance of the suction and discharge valves eliminates the need to separate the pump body from the system line. Maintenance personnel can operate directly on top of the pump, greatly simplifying the process of valve inspection, cleaning or replacement, reducing what may have taken hours of downtime maintenance to a few minutes of quick work.

Field reversible crankshaft: the crankshaft design features field reversible installation, which means that the power input shaft can be flexibly set on the left or right side of the pump according to the needs of the field layout. This feature provides system integrators and end users with great flexibility in device layout and driver system configuration.

Visual Oil Level Monitoring: the power end is equipped with a transparent acrylic back cover, which acts as a window, allowing the operator to visually check the oil level and the cleanliness of the oil at any time without opening any parts.
