Main areas of application

The C40-20's powerful performance and rugged construction make it ideal for a variety of demanding applications:

Drain dredging and cleaning: a flow rate of 40 GPM can efficiently wash away sediment and debris in the drain, while pressures of up to 2,000 PSI can effectively cut through stubborn blockages such as roots and grease. Its ductile iron hydraulic end has excellent corrosion and wear resistance, and can resist the erosion of common chemicals and solid particles in wastewater.

Industrial cleaning and fluid excavation: as a"Mud pump", the C40-20 can easily handle fluids containing abrasive particles, this makes it ideal for heavy equipment surface pretreatment, tank cleaning, and fluid excavation in trenchless technologies. Its robust construction ensures long-term reliability in these high-strength applications.

Vehicle washing system: with its continuous working ability and tolerance to all kinds of cleaning agents, C40-20 is a reliable power core for high-flow automatic car washing tunnels, large truck washing stations and pre-washing stations.

Mine and plant applications: capable of handling liquids up to 160 ° F (71 ° C) , the pump is suitable for mine drainage, slurry handling in concentrators, and other industrial processes requiring the pumping of high temperature or abrasive liquids.

Power: an indestructible source of power

Crankcase

Material and workmanship: the crankcase is made of sturdy monolithic cast iron (Class 30) by the sand casting process. This traditional and reliable process produces complex and robust components. The sand casting endows the crankcase with excellent rigidity and vibration damping properties, providing a stable foundation for all internal moving parts, while its huge internal space also constitutes an ultra-large capacity oil bath, which provides a solid foundation for the design of the crankcase, excellent lubrication and heat dissipation are ensured.

Design features: the crankcase is equipped with super-large oil tank and detachable cover plate, which is convenient for quick inspection and maintenance on site.

Crankshaft: Heart of forged steel

Material: forged AISI 4140(42CrMo) heat-treated alloy steel. This chromium-molybdenum alloy steel is known for its superior combination of mechanical properties, hardenability and high fatigue strength and is ideal for the manufacture of high-load shaft parts.

Process and advantages: crankshafts are manufactured by non-torsional forging and multi-stage heat treatment (quenching and tempering) processes.

Bearing configuration: the main bearing adopts heavy-duty tapered roller bearing, which can bear huge radial and axial load to ensure the smooth rotation of crankshaft.

Connecting rod and crosshead: a strong link to transmit power

Material: connecting rod and crosshead are made of high strength ductile iron and strictly follow ASTM A536 standard (grade 65-45-12 or 80-55-06) .

Technology and advantages: also using sand casting process. Ductile iron is unique in that the graphite inside it is spheroidal rather than flaky. This microstructure enables the material to have strength, toughness and ductility close to that of steel while maintaining excellent casting properties of cast iron, it is perfectly capable of withstanding the tensile and compressive stresses generated by the reciprocating motion of a piston.

Design features: the connecting rod is equipped with a replaceable bronze wrist pin bushing for easy maintenance. The heavy-duty crosshead design ensures movement stability, while polished stainless steel"Pony Rods" provide a smooth, wear-resistant surface that extends seal life.

 

Hydraulic end: an expert in handling abrasive and corrosive environments

 

 

Manifold (hydraulic end valve housing) : the first line of defense for safety

Material: hydraulic end valve box using high strength ductile iron (ASTM A536) . This choice is essential for"Mud pumps" and"Sewer dredge pumps". In sewer dredging and other applications, the sudden blockage of the pipeline may lead to an instantaneous surge in system pressure, resulting in a"Water hammer" effect. The brittleness of standard gray cast iron makes it easy to fracture under this impact load. The spheroidal graphite structure of ductile iron gives it excellent ductility and impact resistance, which can effectively absorb the pressure impact without catastrophic failure, thus greatly improving the operation safety and equipment reliability.

Cylinder liner: wear resistance advantage of ceramic coating

Material and technology: the stainless steel cylinder liner with taper is used, and a hard ceramic coating is applied on the inner surface. The ceramic materials such as alumina or zirconia were melted and sprayed on the stainless steel substrate at high speed to form a dense, uniform and strong wear-resistant layer by advanced processes such as thermal spraying.

Advantages: ceramic coating has very high hardness (Mohs hardness up to 9, second only to diamond) and very low coefficient of friction. When pumping fluids containing abrasive particles such as sand and mud, this ceramic surface is highly resistant to scratching and wear and lasts 5 to 10 times longer than conventional metal cylinder liners. This not only significantly reduces the frequency and cost of cylinder liner replacement, but also extends the life of the piston packing, thereby reducing the total cost of ownership.

Piston Assembly and packing: reliable sealing under high pressure

Pistons: the piston assemblies are made of solid stainless steel to ensure that they do not deform under high pressure.

Standard packing material: Standard multi-layer v-ring packing, by * * nitrile rubber (Buna-N) * * and cotton fabric reinforcement layer composite, and with brass ring. Nitrile rubber has excellent oil resistance and good wear resistance, which is an economical and efficient choice for water-based and oil-based mud applications.

Optional sealing material: to meet the requirements of different chemical media and temperature, we provide * * fluorine rubber (Viton/FKM) * * packing as an upgrade option. By providing customers with a choice of materials, we transform standard products into customized solutions for specific operating conditions. For example, standard nitrile rubber seals are ideal for water-based applications and have excellent wear resistance. However, certain industrial cleaning or sewerage operations may involve hydrocarbons or corrosive chemicals, in which case fluororubber performs better due to its wider chemical resistance and higher temperature resistance.

Valve components: precision and durability

Standard material: spring-loaded flat valve design is used for valve components. The seat is made of hardened stainless steel to ensure tight seal and durability under high pressure.

Optional material: * * Acetal/Delrin * * valve plate is available as an option. Acetal resin is a high-performance engineering plastic with superior dimensional stability, low friction coefficient, and excellent tolerance to fuels and a variety of solvents, making it ideal for specific industrial cleaning tasks.

Design: the valve is easy to maintain, no need to remove the pump from the system can be overhauled, greatly reducing the maintenance time.
