Myers D65-20 triplex plunger pump

Power End: the cornerstone of forging strength and precision engineering

Crankshaft: solid backbone of forged alloy steel

The crankshaft of the D65-20 is precision-manufactured from 4140 heat-treated forged alloy steel. This choice is a fundamental guarantee of its superior durability.

Frame and transmission components: advantage application of ductile iron

The dynamic end of the D65-20 strategically employs a variety of high-performance cast iron materials. Its sturdy crankcase is made of CL30 grade cast iron, while its connecting rods and crossheads are made of excellent ASTMA A536 grade ductile iron.

Bearings, gears and lubrication systems: designed for continuous operation

The D65-20 is meticulously designed in every detail of the driveline. The pump's built-in gearbox is made of high-strength alloy steel and features helical gears. Compared with spur gears, helical gears have smoother and more continuous tooth surface contact, which can transmit higher torque and significantly reduce operating noise and vibration.

The main bearings of the crankshaft are tapered roller bearings. Designed to support both high radial (vertical) and axial (lateral) loads, this bearing type is ideal for supporting crankshaft assemblies and ensuring their precise positioning.

For lubrication, the D65-20 uses an extremely reliable, continuous splash lubrication system to ensure continuous lubrication of all moving parts, both positive and negative. This kind of design structure is simple, easy to maintain, can effectively reduce wear, take away heat, for a long time continuous and stable operation of the pump to provide a strong guarantee.

Hydraulic end: advanced material systems for extreme environments

Hydraulic end pump body: solid first line of defense

The standard D65-20 features a high-strength ductile iron pump body that provides superior strength and corrosion resistance for most municipal blowdown and industrial cleaning applications. We also offer aluminum bronze as an option for ocean engineering and special industrial scenarios that require treatment of seawater or specific chemicals, its excellent corrosion resistance ensures long-term stable operation of the pump in a more aggressive environment. This flexibility in material selection allows the customer to tailor the pump to the specific application to achieve the best balance of performance and cost.

Advantages of ceramic coating: excellent cylinder liner technology

The Myers D65-20 features an advanced, ceramic-coated steel cylinder liner (part no. 20851A001K) , which is one of its core technical advantages over conventional pumps.

Compared with the monolithic ceramic cylinder liner, the ceramic coating technology perfectly combines the hardness advantage of the ceramic with the toughness of the steel substrate. Although the integral ceramic has high hardness, there is a risk of brittle fracture under the impact load and temperature change caused by the reciprocating motion of the pump.

Plunger and packing assembly: multi-layer sealing system

The D65-20 uses a precision-engineered multi-layer seal system for the plunger and packing assembly. The piston rod, ring, spring and gland in the plunger assembly, are made of solid stainless steel, to ensure structural strength and corrosion resistance under high pressure.

The core of the seal is Buna-N (nitrile rubber) with a multi-lip v-ring filler reinforced with cotton canvas and supported by a sturdy, bronze follower. The multi-lip v-ring (also known as Chevron Packing) design is the classic solution for high-pressure seals. The Buna-N material is selected for its excellent tolerance to petroleum-based fluids and chemicals commonly found in industrial waste liquids, while the addition of cotton canvas enhances the mechanical strength of the filler and prevents its extrusion damage under high pressure. The bronze follower provides a rigid support for the entire packing set, ensuring stability in reciprocating motion.

High efficiency valve system: Acetal material advantages

The D65-20 features a spring-loaded, flat plate valve, designed and standardly fitted with Valve discs made of Acetal (included in service kit 17678A065, part No. 18834A001) .

Simplified maintenance process

A prominent design feature of the D65-20 hydraulic end is its superior maintainability. All valves and piston assemblies can be serviced and replaced through convenient openings at the front and top of the pump body, eliminating the need to remove the entire pump from the mounting base. This design greatly reduces the time required for routine inspection and replacement of perishable parts, significantly reduces the complexity and labor intensity of maintenance work, and allows the equipment to resume operation more quickly, maximize your productivity.
