Horizontal triplex single-acting design

The A-850-PT is a horizontal triplex single-acting piston pump. Compared with the two-cylinder pump, the three-cylinder design can produce more stable and less pulsatile discharge flow, which is essential to modern drilling technology. Smooth fluid flow can significantly reduce the vibration of the entire high-pressure manifold system, thereby protecting downstream equipment and providing a more stable working environment for measurement-while-drilling (MWD/LWD-RRB- tools to ensure the accuracy of data acquisition.

Power End Anatomy: engineering masterpieces for continuous operation

Power-side racks and drivetrains

Frame construction: the power end core of the pump is a fully enclosed frame welded with high-strength low-alloy steel. This structure provides excellent rigidity, can effectively resist the operation of the huge torque, prevent frame deformation, thus ensuring the accurate alignment of internal transmission components.

Crankshaft assembly: the crankshaft is forged from high quality alloy steel (4340 alloy steel) and is subjected to rigorous heat treatment and precision machining to maximize its strength and resistance to fatigue crack propagation. The crankshaft is supported by heavy duty double row spherical roller bearings.

Pinion shafts and gears: the pinion shafts are also forged from high grade alloy steel (42CrMo) and are designed as twin-outlet shafts, allowing power to be fed from either side of the pump, greatly enhancing the flexibility of the field arrangement. The pump is driven by single helical gears that are precision machined to AGMA standards to ensure smooth, efficient and low noise transmission of power while reducing impact loads on bearings. The pinion shaft is also supported by double-row spherical roller bearings to cope with complex loading conditions.

Connecting rod and crosshead: the connecting rod adopts two-piece design, which is convenient for maintenance and replacement in the frame, and does not need to disassemble the crankshaft, which greatly simplifies the maintenance process. The crosshead is made of high-strength ductile iron and operates in a guide plate with replaceable gaskets to adjust the clearance, ensuring accurate centering of the piston rod movement and convenient compensation for wear and tear caused by long-term operation.

Dual lubrication system: the ultimate guarantee of reliability

The reliability design of A-850-PT is fully reflected in the lubrication system. It incorporates a dual lubrication system, a critical fail-safe design designed to maximize protection and avoid catastrophic failure.

Pressure lubrication: a set of oil pumps driven by an independent motor constitutes the main lubrication system, and the pressure lubrication system is designed to ensure the safety of the equipment, it delivers filtered clean oil at constant pressure to the bearing surfaces of all key moving parts, such as crankshafts, pinion shafts, connecting rods, and crossheads.

Splash lubrication: as a redundant backup, the rotation of gears and crankshafts inside the pump will produce mist and oil droplets, forming"Waterfall" or"Splash" lubrication.

Hydraulic end frame: for high pressure forging, designed for maintenance

The A-850-PT's hydraulic end design combines rugged materials with extreme on-site maintainability to meet the most demanding challenges.

"L" type modular cylinder excellence

The core of the A-850-PT hydraulic end is its three independent, interchangeable"L" cylinder modules. This design is key to reducing life cycle costs. Each module is a separate pressure vessel with integrated suction and discharge valve chambers.

State-of-the-art metallurgy and manufacturing processes

Material Selection: each cylinder module is forged from top quality high strength alloy steel. We offer a variety of high quality alloy steel options including AISI 4135,35CRMO, 40CrMoMn, which are carefully selected for their superior toughness, strength and fatigue resistance to ensure that up to 5, 000 PSI cyclic pressure.

Manufacturing Process: our manufacturing process begins with a rigorous selection of forgings. Each module is subjected to multiple heat treatment processes, including quenching and tempering, to obtain the best combination of mechanical properties. Subsequently, precision machining is carried out on state-of-the-art CNC machining centers to ensure accuracy and finish of all critical dimensions, especially valve cavities and cylinder bores, thus ensuring perfect interchangeability of all components.

Quality Control and API 7K: we solemnly promise that all hydraulic end modules and assemblies will be manufactured and tested in strict accordance with API 7K specifications. Each module must pass rigorous non-destructive testing (NDT) , such as ultrasonic testing and magnetic particle/penetrant testing, to ensure that there are no microscopic cracks or material defects inside it before it leaves the factory. In addition, hydrostatic pressure tests are carried out to verify their structural integrity under overpressure conditions.

Systematic design for easy maintenance

Valve and bonnet: each valve chamber can be operated independently, equipped with threaded, self-locking bonnet, maintenance personnel without the use of special heavy tools can be quickly and safely disassembled valve assembly.

Manifolds: suction manifold and discharge manifold are bolted together, which can be disassembled without disturbing the main body of the hydraulic cylinder for easy cleaning and maintenance.

Liner flushing system: An integrated full-cycle liner flushing system that continuously sprays cooling and lubricating fluids into the liner-piston interface through dedicated pumps and lines. This can not only effectively reduce the operating temperature of the piston and cylinder liner, but also wash away the intruding abrasive particles in time, thus greatly extending the service life of these key wear parts.

The science of wearing parts

In the operation cost of mud pump, the consumption of wearing parts accounts for an important part. We not only provide replacement parts, but also wear and tear solutions optimized by material science and engineering design. Our goal is to extend the service life of every perishable part through superior performance, thus creating higher value for our customers.

Cylinder liner: the first line of defense against wear and tear

Our cylinder liners feature an advanced bimetal composite structure designed to provide ultimate wear and pressure resistance.

Structure and material: the casing is made of high strength forged steel (45 # steel) , providing strong structural support to withstand pump chamber pressure. The inner bushing is made of high chromium alloy cast iron by centrifugal casting process, and its chromium content is not less than 27% , and molybdenum and other alloy elements are added to increase the hardness depth. After precision heat treatment, the hardness of the lining can reach HRC 62-69, forming an extremely hard, wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant inner surface.

Design features: "HP" lip design (high pressure non-slip design) to ensure that the bushing under great pressure will not occur in the shell sliding or displacement, to ensure the stability of the operation. After precision honing, the inner hole has a high surface finish, which can effectively reduce the wear of the piston and prolong the life of the piston.

Piston and piston rod: converting power to flow

Our piston assembly design is designed to provide a durable and reliable seal in harsh drilling fluid environments.

Structure and material: the piston body uses high quality forged alloy steel (42CrMo) as the core to ensure no deformation under high pressure. The special formula of Urethane or NBR material is used for the piston rubber skin, which is firmly bonded with the metal piston core through the advanced vulcanization process. These materials have excellent oil resistance, chemical corrosion resistance, and wear resistance and can work at temperatures up to 350 ° F (177 ° C) .

Piston rod: the piston rod is forged by high strength alloy steel, the surface is treated by induction hardening and precision grinding, and has extremely high surface hardness and excellent core toughness. The two-stage threaded connection design eliminates the need to remove the cylinder liner when replacing the piston, greatly simplifying on-site maintenance.
