The crosshead guide plate needs to be checked to confirm whether it is loose and to ensure that the crosshead running clearance meets the specified requirements. If adjustment is required, it can be achieved by adding a gasket under the guide plate. In addition, when disassembling the crankshaft assembly, it is recommended to rotate the crosshead 180° before using it.
At the same time, it is recommended to conduct a comprehensive inspection of the entire pump every two or three years. During this process, the wear of the main bearing, eccentric bearing, crosshead bearing and pinion shaft bearing should be carefully examined. If any wear or damage is found and cannot be repaired, new parts must be replaced. In addition, the degree of wear of the gears must be checked. If the wear is severe, the crankshaft and pinion shaft should be turned around and installed at the same time to use the unworn side of the tooth surface.
